Nauticom Sports Network evolved from a successful relationship between Nauticom, one of the first and largest internet service providers in the area, and the Scholastic Sports Network (SSN), an organization broadcasting local and regional sports on the radio since 1989.

Over the past decade, SSN has expanded to include broadcasts of all Duquesne University football games, select Duquesne Lady Dukes basketball games, and more than ten football and baseball state championship games. Last year, when SSN sought to offer their broadcasts over the internet, they found in Nauticom a partner willing to serve as a corporate sponsor and handle the simultaneous radio broadcasts through its server.

Internet broadcasts are accomplished by interfacing a computer with a station's radio board. The board itself receives the remote-site audio feed and sends it to a computer connected to Nauticom's server in Gibsonia, PA, which enables "Real Audio" service over the internet.

The Nauticom Sports Network has a team of first-rate local announcers, and games are currently being broadcast by such stations as WPIT, WWCS-Canonsburg, WZUM-Carnegie, and WGBN-New Kensington, to name a few. NSN anticipates adding many more stations and events, and advertisers anxious to reach an established yet constantly expanding audience base are purchasing commercial spots during this hot broadcast!
